Property insurance

When you have a mortgage, the lender will want to protect their investment in your property and you will therefore need to provide evidence that you have arranged buildings insurance.  This covers the structure and permanent fixtures and fittings of your home - meaning items you would not normally take with you if you moved house.  Cover generally includes damage caused by fire, earthquake, explosion, storm damage, flooding, subsidence etc.

Contents Insurance is not compulsory, but is highly recommended to protect your personal household items, and policies can usually include accidental damage to certain electrical items.

At First Stop Mortgage Shop Tamworth we can compare products from a sufficiently large range of insurance providers for your Home and Contents Insurance.

We'll also be happy to advise you about other types of insurance:

  • payment protection
  • residential building insurance
  • household contents insurance

Think carefully before securing other debts against your home.   Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
